Morgantown Brewing Company's historic waterfront location was converted into its' current brewery layout in 1992 after serving first as the Monongahela Supply Co. in the late 1890s, and later as the flagship Gabriel Brothers' retail store. Morgantown Brewing Company was voted Best Brewery in West Virginia by readers of WV Living Magazine in 2020 and Best Brewery in Morgantown in both 2019 and 2020 after a change in ownership and the release of over 70 new limited edition beers during those two years. During the Covid-19 pandemic, Morgantown Brewing gained a widespread following for their wild and exotic fruited sour ales and the associated can releases.
