I took a friend here for her birthday. I went in the day before, with a cake and baloons and asked if they could have them set out on the table waiting as a surprise when we arrived the next day. The server(s) accommodated my requests over and above all that I asked. They had set us up in a special table that afforded privacy and was decorated with the baloons and had special items that I had not brought or requested--all done by them at their innitiative. They comped us mango lasses, and the service was above excellent--all smiles and attentiveness. The food was great--a really exciting variety of Indian dishes, breads, desserts, etc. My friend was overwhelmed with the preparation, the service the food and the baloons, cake and the singing of "Happy Birthday" by the servers. We have already made plans to return for the next birthday. This place is great--the wood decore gives it an earthy nataural quality that also adds to the experience.

I completely disagree with Hector. Mother India has always been a wonderful experience. Love the food, atmosphere and staff. Owner was same person of the original Cafe of India. It's a must try at least once. Never had or even heard of any other complaints. Thanks for reading!
