Everything written by others about Bear Creek is true. My mother had the unfortunate experience of staying there for 2 months in 2013. Her call light would go unanswered, or worse an aide would turn off the light and walk away. Her pain meds were not administered correctly, they were giving her less and less and she was in agony. They said they made a "mistake" with the dosage. After 2 months we were able to find placement at another facility, thank God.

This facility is very unprofessional and constantly interferes with loved ones wanting their parent to be properly cared for and Bear Creek does not allow this to happen...As long as you follow their directions only then they are content but when someone related to the resident (parent) notices care is not proper or correct the staff/facility become defensive and lie and do not follow protocol that is directed by regulation, statute and common decency to the resident as well as the individuals that visit the resident..,.Poor does not even come close to describing Bear Creek Care and Rehabilitative Centers lack of proper care for the resident but also the lack of respect for the loved ones that visit...This facility should be fined, closely inspected, regulated to follow proper and correct protocol, all the above mentioned or shut down permanently.

I would not recommend this facility for anyone I know and I worked there for 3 years as a nurse. After I realized things were never going to get better I left. Sunhealth is so cheap. They cut expenses at the resident's welfare. I would never recommend Bearcreek to any one I knew. Call light's stay on for ever and when residents need help getting to the bathroom they end up trying to get ot of bed on their own and fall and get injured. Many rooms are so cluttered there is no supply of non-slip footwear and bed alarms. The food is horrible and there isn't a sufficient diabetic, renal, or cardiac diet for those in need..They pay their staff poorly. Alot of staff work there because it is close to the mtns and the drive is short for them. DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVED ONE THERE.The Rehab Staff is very GOOD all other sevices are not.

RESIDENTS LIGHTS STAY ON WITH NO NURSES ANSWERING THEM, THEY SAY "LEAVE THE LIGHT ON AND WAIT FOR AN AID" I HAVE WAITED AS LONG AS 1/2 HOUR FOR AN AID TO SHOW UP BECAUSE THE PLACE ES EXTREMELY SHORT STAFFED. THE FOOD IS CHEAP, UNIMAGINALBE AND NOT HEALTHY FOR A DIABETIC....IT APPEARS TO BE ALL SWEETS IN THE AM FOR SNACKS WHICH THE RESIDENTS CAN EAT AT FREE WILL...DIABETIC OR NOT. THE CHARGES ARE OUTRAGEOUS FOR THE LOUSEY CARE....I WAS THERE A FEW TIMES WHEN THERE WERE NO PAPER TOWELS BECAUSE " WE HAVE A BUDGET AND WHEN WE NEED STUFF WE HAVE TO WAIT FOR NEXT MONTH'S BUDGET TO COME OUT. THE MAJORITY OF THE EMPLOYEES ARE NEVER HAPPY BECAUSE THE WORK LOAD IS WAY TOO MUCH FOR THE LACK OF EMPLOYEES.
