Founded in 1992, Southside Elementary School serves various students in grades three through five. The school has a parent-teacher organization that sponsors several activities. It offers classes in language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, art, music and comprehensive health. Southside Elementary School serves more than 200 students and employs over 25 staff members. The school publishes monthly parent newsletters that offer information related to upcoming events. It provides an accelerated reader program that is used to monitor and guide reading practices and help students in improving their reading skills. Southside Elementary School is a part of Morrison Community Unit District 6 and is located in Morrison, Ill.
