The issue is the way the company handles the billing of CRNAand physician.
It is widely known in the industry that insurance companies overpay anesthesia groups by ignoring the procedure modifiers and allowing the full amount for both claims.
The anesthesia billing system would have the correct allowable for each claim at only 50%. Therefore when the insurance overpay, it should appear asan overpayment.
This anesthesia practice billed the patient for double the correct Co-insurance.

The patient was only aware of the issue because a family member worked for another anesthesia company. When the patient tried to call the billing office to discuss the issue, they had to leave multiple messages.
When we called and finally spoke with an acct rep, we were told this happens all the time.we were also told it was our responsibility to call the insurance company and have them request a refund.
We also asked for an updated bill. We agreed to pay the bill once received.

When we called back the next day, there were no notes in the system regarding our previous call on double billed co-insurance.Then we had to have a 3 way call with the insurance companyto review the claims.

Again , we asked for a corrected bills owe could pay. We never received a corrected bill from the anesthesia group.
Five weeks later, we were sent to collections.

Thankfully, we had a family member who knew how to bill Anesthesia claims.
Otherwise we would have paid double what we should have owed.

How many other patients and insurance companies have overpaid?

Told anesthesiologist that I am highly allergic to anesthesia. Told me he was giving me anti-nausea medicine prior to 5 hour operation. Where was was he when I was throwing my guts up in recovery for four hours. NOW I received an additional bill (356.00) after he was paid $2400.00 in full prior to operation. Greedy bastards with no moral compasses. I can’t stand dealing with doctors any more! I would give this group zero stars. Their google reviews have been horrendous. Wait till they get my hospital reports saying I am allergic to anesthesia and I was vomiting for FOUR HOURS in recovery. Here's a lawsuit waiting to happen. SMH! Every damn billing I have ever had has been with these greedy bastards!

I have had the worst experience with this company. First I find a TYPO on a bill in which they overcharged me $100. Then, they bill my insurance company TWICE for a procedure, so naturally my insurance company (which is very good) paid the first but not the rest, so I ended up paying $500+ extra. When I realized this, I called my insurance company, which then contacted them, and the issue was fixed, or so I thought. I even received a refund for the amount in which I overpaid. This was last September. I just received another bill, for the same amount that was refunded to me. A YEAR LATER. This is bordering on harassment, and should I ever need surgery again, I will absolutely REFUSE to use this organization. The hospital will have to find someone else, or I'll find another hospital. Beware of this company, they are rude and downright incompetent when it comes to billing.
