The Arts Council of the Morris Area is a private 501 ( c ) ( 3 ) nonprofit organization founded in 1973 and long dedicated to enriching and transforming lives through the arts. Our mission is to bring the arts to the center of community life and we accomplish that through programming in the areas of arts education, arts in community, arts advocacy, and services that support our community of artists and arts organizations.Led by our vision and mission, the Arts Council's varied programs and services are designed to build vibrant communities through arts programming and support of locally-based arts, to celebrate the creativity of artists in our midst, to serve as a central arts resource, to enrich the learning experiences of school children and to provide information about the arts to the general public. The Arts Council of the Morris Area has consistently been honored by the New Jersey State Council on the Arts, receiving the State's prestigious Citation of Excellence and designation as a Major Service Organization in recognition of the Council's solid history of artistic excellence, substantial programming and broad public service.
