Operational since 1967, McGarrah Elementary School, formerly known as Lake Harbin Elementary School, is a learning center that provides academic instruction to students in pre-kindergarten through grade five. It offers the English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) program. The school's media center provides an accelerated reader program that is used to monitor and guide reading practices and help students in improving reading abilities. It has a counseling department that employs guidance counselors who serve teachers and parents by offering information that assists in meeting the academic and emotional needs of students. McGarrah Elementary School operates a student council.
