Provided by YPmobileThis is the single worst rental situation I have ever been involved with. The incompetent
office and lack of professionalism is in a class by itself.Dont be mislead into thinking
it will be better for you.

Provided by YP.comThe WORST place to live as a college student! This place is A TOTAL SCAM!! My roommate and I were both informed today that we each owed around $1000 for The Grove to replace nearly every piece of furniture, recarpet the entire apartment, and repaint every wall. When we moved in we DID NOT have new furniture, did not have new carpet, and the walls were not recently painted. We filled out damage sheets when we moved in but were not allowed to fill them out when we left and were instead told that we all had to move out at the same time, it could only be between Monday and Friday, and it had to be scheduled with 1 of 2 maintenance men. If we couldn't do this then we had to turn over our keys and move out without anyone at the grove seeing our apartment and they would later determine what needed to be replaced (Apparently the answer was EVERYTHING)!! Its been 5 months since we moved out and this is the first we ever heard of the charges and we only heard of them because the collection agency was letting us know we had 5 days to pay or face actions against us. The old manager had been spying on my other 2 female roommates and I, telling other tenants to keep an eye on us, and gossiping to the employees about us to the point where one previous employee recognized me in the mall because he talked about us so much. One instance this summer when my roommate was living in the apartment alone before I came back, the manager took it upon himself to key himself into our apartment, unannounced, and had the audacity to be surprised when my roommate was there, in our apartment! We had a 70 year old man living under us, who was asked by the manager to keep an eye on us and report weekly on what kind of tenants we were, he took it upon himself to make rules for my roommates and I such as no friends over after 7 pm, no noise after 10 pm, and we were not allowed to be walking around, having people over, playing with the dog, or anything of the sort during dinner time because he liked peace during dinner. We were threatened with fines if we didn't conform to these rules that he had made up since he was friends with the Manager. If I could give negative stars I would because this place was NOTHING but trouble and a money trap!

Provided by YP.comIt started the first day I moved in. The washing machine flooded the apartment and the air conditioning broke. My roommates and I lived on the third floor for a month in 90 degree weather with no air conditioning. When I asked about a rent comp they said there was nothing they could do.
The week of Thanksgiving was typical Idaho winter, windy and quite cold. Our heater broke. I call the office on Wednesday and they tell me I will have to wait until the following Monday to get it fixed because the manager is gone and “they don’t like to call and bother him.” My family was staying with me for Thanksgiving and I had animals I was trying to keep warm. Thankfully after about an hour of fighting with them on the phone we were able to get someone to fix the heat. Come on, they expected me to go almost a week without heat in Idaho in the Winter?!!?!
Then comes move out time. Somehow there was a $5 balance on my account that needed to be paid. Due to an honest math mistake by an employee. No big deal. UNTIL august comes around and my roommates try to check out. The Grove employees refuse to check me out of my room because I have a balance on my account. The Grove does not contact me to tell me this, my roommate does. I call the Grove and attempt to pay this balance. For A MONTH I call twice a week to be told that the computers are too backed up for them to tell me my balance and let me pay it. Finally I stop calling, stupidly trusting them to contact me like they promised.
The end of august rolls around and my dad (cosigner on the lease) gets a phone call from the corporate grove office telling him that if he does not pay his balance (THE BALANCE I HAD BEEN TRYING TO PAY) he will be reported to the credit borough. I have had enough by this time and go into the office to speak with the manager. The front desk employee refused to let me speak with the manager. She ran back and forth from the front desk to his office playing the middleman. It was decided that I owed $5 and I paid it. I asked her to mail me a copy of my account showing its zero dollar balance and left feeling relieved that I would never have to deal with them again.
This morning I was reviewing my bank statement and I notice a $35 dollar charge from none other then… THE GROVE. I instantly called them getting the standard greeting “it’s a great day at the grove how may I help you?” IT IS NOT A GREAT DAY AT THE GROVE!!!! I had to go through all sorts of hoops to speak with the manager and once I did he said since my account is closed he cannot refund me the $30 I was overcharged. Essentially they stole $30 from me and short of going to court over $30, which I have, no intention of doing, there is nothing I can do.

Provided by YPmobileThey spy on you. They monthly go through your things to see if you are breaking the lease. Would not recommend unless you like being watched.

Provided by YP.comDon't be fooled by The Grove. After living on Campus in the dorms I was so excited to find an off campus apartment, The Grove seemed like a no brainer. They actively claim to be "ultimate college living." *cough *cough Bulls**t. There are more families here than college students and they have young kids running around everywhere. It's a very difficult place to study. They have a library where they claim you can get peace and quiet, but it is next to the game room, which most days is filled, yet again with young kids screaming. The WiFi at The Grove is sub-par, it's bearable, but very inconsistent. THE BIGGEST SCAM AT THE GROVE IS YOUR LIVING QUARTERS.
Don't be fooled by the model apartment they have set up for tours. After moving in the furniture was scratched to hell, the couch had slashes in it and is cheap. The ottoman had claw punctures in it, from an animal I am assuming. But the worst is the walls. They are so thin! You can literally hear a phone vibrate from another apartment. It is the worst place to stay in Moscow, don't get tricked into it, If I could I wouldn't have even given it one star.

Provided by YP.comIts a great place to live. Easy to move in and out. Ideal housing for exchange students and grad students as well. I originally didn't have any room mates to move in with so The Grove matched me based upon my personal preferences and what I was looking for in a room mate. Very helpful and professional staff. AND THERE IS A POOL! Its a lot of fun to get a free coffee from the bistro and head out to the pool to catch some rays. Rent isn't as cheap as other places however you get what you pay for, resort style living in a great community of people with helpful staff and maintenance. I would suggest this apartment complex to others
