The Isabella County Sheriff's Office is a full-service, community-oriented law enforcement agency that preserves peace and safety and safeguards civil rights. It is responsible for the operation of the county jail, service of court papers and providing 24-hour protection to detect and deter crime. The sheriff s office also provides back up assistance to other area agencies. The Isabella County Sheriff's Office maintains an emergency services team that is a multijurisdictional unit and provides support and tactical response to critical incidents, including barricaded gunman and school violence incidents, as well as high-risk arrest and search warrants. It also has the Bay Area Narcotics Team (BAYANET), which enforces narcotics law with special attention to street-level dealing and drug use. Established in 1859, the Isabella County Sheriff's Office is located in Mount Pleasant, Mich.
