I am extremely disappointed in this church. I was locked out of the mass with my small children when I had to take my child to the bathroom. I have a 3 year old and two year old who were sitting in mass appropriately. They started laughing when walking out of the restroom when a very rude man stood up and locked the door on us while trying to walk back to our seat. God loves children, Jesus loves children and when children are not welcome you go against what Jesus has taught. It takes a villiage to raise children.

I love this church!! The people are warm and welcoming. You feel like a member of the community the first time you walk into the Church. I moved here from a parish that I was a member of for 34 years and in one year I already feel just as a home here at St. Benedict.

A very warm and friendly house of worship. My family and I thoroughly enjoy attending services as well as special events and programs offered at the parish. My children never feel awkward or out of place and we are all treated as members of one big family.

Check it out. A family-oriented, warm, friendly house of worship. Very spiritual. The new church (2011) is beautiful and all are welcome.

Friendly Smiles

I love this church! After attending Mass at many of the local churches, I have findly found one to call home! Everyone was so nice and so friendly. I enjoy going & I actually get something out of the homily. The new church is being built and it is so exciting to be a part of it and to have my children share in building a home for God.

I also love that the children are welcome during Mass. The ministers take the time to bless each one of them. I love it!

Do NOT Recommend

I have been attending St. Benedict's for the past several months. Every week that I have attended, I have felt as if I was attending a financial meeting! Every week the liturgy is devoted to discussing the financial situation of the church as well as an update on the building plans for the new church. Last week, they even had a guest speaker (financial advisor) come during the liturgy and discuss how members are not donating enough money each week to the church!!! Never had I been to a mass where this was actually discussed in such great detail. The financial advisor even gave statistics, i.e. There are 500 families who are registerd and out of those 500 families, only 150 families donate the recommended $20 or more offering!!!!

I really don't know how I lasted so long at this church. Every week I tell myself, if Monsignor Chet devotes the entire ceremony to discussing the finances of the church or how the current members are not doing enough, I will not attend again and find a new church. Last week, when they had a financial advisor give a presentation, was definitely the last straw! I was sitting there feeling as if I should be taking notes watching a powerpoint presentation.

If you have just relocated to the area or are considering switching to a new parish, PLEASE consider finding an alternative church.

FYI: I do understand that the church needs money to operate and that religion is not "free". I just feel that if the church did not press the issue so insistently that members would be more willing to give and not become cynical of the practices of the Catholic Church. I never thought in a million years that I would be writing a bad review of a church.

We are very sorry to read your review & for your negative experience. There was a 6 week stewardship drive to educate all the parishioners on finances, ministries, & the new building. This ran from mid-September 2009 through the end of October 2009. At St. Benedict, the Annual Financial report is given at this time. We believe it is important for our parishioners to know and share in an understanding of the parish finances. The powerpoint presentation was on our new church building being built to present to the parishioners the drawings, the plans, and the building loan. This was the first presentation of this information. All the parishioners were excited to see the project being started & to have their questions answered. St. Benedict celebrated its 10 year anniversary in 2009! After ten years, we are very excited to be building a home for our Church in 2010! Please come celebrate the Eucharist with us again. St. Benedict is a very warm & inviting community where all are welcome. Thank you.
