Lighthouse Counseling Services provides counseling services to children, adolescents, adults & families in Mount Pleasant and surrounding areas. They offer counseling for stress management, communication, relationships, those who have suffered trauma and many other mental health issues. They are committed to helping their patients grow, break through barriers and achieve their personal goals. Joanne Christian, MA, LPC-S is the founder of Lighthouse Counseling Services, PLLC in 2004. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor in Texas. Ms. Christian completed her undergraduate and graduate degrees from University of Texas-Permian Basin in 1992 and 1994 respectively. She is strongly committed to her clients mental health needs and professionals through advocacy and by assuming leadership roles in Texas Counseling Association and membership/participation in other professional organizations. Ms. Christian works with children, individuals, and couples who need caring support facing a variety of challenging life issues. Special interests include counseling persons who have experienced trauma, stress management, anxiety, depression, grief, communication and child and parenting issues. She presents education seminars for professionals and consumers on mental health topics. Ms. Christian has lived in Mt. Pleasant for nearly 20 years with deep roots for multiple generations. She welcomes calls with questions regarding the process of counseling, mental health consultation and community presentations on topics related to mental health issues. Evelyn Keathley, MA, LPC-S has been with Lighthouse Counseling Services since 2013. Ms. Keathley is a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor in Texas. Ms. Keathley holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Master of Arts in Counseling, both from Dallas Baptist University. Ms Keathley is a member of Texas Counseling Association. Ms Keathley is committed to meeting the mental health needs of her clients. Ms Keathley has received and continues to receive, in-depth, specialized training in Play Therapy and Trauma Focused Therapy. Of course, Ms Keathley's professional experience goes beyond these areas, as her focus remains on meeting the very individualized needs of her clients. Ms Keathley works with children, adults, families, parents, and couples, who may be seeking emotional and cognitive support during periods of adjustment or just wanting to explore/address areas of recognized need. Other examples of clinical experience and expertise include: reconciliation, anxiety, depression, grief/bereavement, communication, substance/drug abuse, narrative/reflection, boundaries, and parenting. Patience and recognition of individualized needs within an ever changing world are foundational in Ms Keathleys approach to therapeutic intervention.
