If it were possible to sue a Veterinarian for malpractice, I would.

Seemed very caring, but knowledge is much more useful when putting your best friends life in someone’s hands.

My dog had gotten into a mountain lions deer kill, she had a weakness for venison.

We brought her in when she became lethargic and refused to eat. She was diagnosed with a possible bladder infection and given antibiotics. I informed the Vet that she had probably been into a deer kill and she had been treated here before for this problem.

We had to bring her back the next day because she kept throwing up bile, she was in extreme pain. They did x-rays and many other tests but found nothing. She was being fed and treated intravenously with antibiotics.

We got to bring her home for one night but had to bring her back because she was getting much worse, and still would not eat.

On her 8th day under their care in the hospital, they finally did an ultrasound and found that she had deer hide and sinew blocking her intestine. They removed 39” of her intestine that evening. They tried to feed her the next day and she vomited possibly rupturing her newly repaired intestine. We arrived as they were resuscitating her heart. We were told another emergency surgery may possibly save her, so of course we said yes. When she was reopened so much damage had been done to her intestine from being blocked for so long they could do nothing more except let her go.

The sonogram done early, on based on the information I had given them probably would have saved her life, she was only ten and had been with us since we moved here. She died an agonizingly long and painful death.

Our bill is quite large, a third of which has already been paid. I began making $100.00 a month payments, only to find them charging me $33.75 as an administrative charge, 1 ½ percent per month. This is an insult to anyone who loves their animals and would do anything to save them, including paying the bill.

If you have other options in Veterinary care, use them.
