Worst experience of my life paid for repairs that weren't needed because they refused to release my truck. Went to put gas in my pickup and had to call the police due to them calling a tow truck to remove my mothers vehicle which I had parked not 10 minutes prior. They find things wrong that aren't broken then threaten you and hold vehicles hostage. This could be because I'm a lesbian. I paid $600 was supposed to be $250 then had to pay $65 to get them to unhook my mom's car. Extremely disappointing because the bearing they gave us as broken doesn't even fit my pickup!!!!!

I would like to say, they are very friendy and did everything to help when my daughters Mercedes-Benz suv broke down and had to leave it at auto zone as we were from out of town. They got it to there shop and had it fixed the next day. Very fast and very reasonable price. I would definitely recommend them, and would use them again if I lived in town. Thank you so much Felty's!

i was driving from florida to minnesota (by myself) and near mt. vernon, il my elderly chevy died. my insurance company got my location and sent a tow truck (Ricks Towing, driver Kitt) within 35 minutes. Kitt took me to the mt. vernon chevy dealer who said he couldn't even look at my car until the next day. Kitt said he knows the owners of FELTYS AUTO REPAIR, called them up, and towed my car to FELTYS.james felty did a diagnosis immediately, found the problem, and shelley felty ordered the parts. i was out at 5:05 pm the SAME DAY!!this is the best automotive repair service my chevy has ever had. professionalism, an ace mechanic and a kind soul made my disastrous nightmare feel not so bad.if i lived in or near mt,. vernon, FELTYS would without a doubt be my mechanic! they're the best!

Our minivan broke down on the interstate outside Mt. Vernon during a family summer vacation. We were a bit frantic in looking for a place that would help us with no notice; figure out the problem; and fix it. Felty's was just tremendous, and the owner/operator and his wife were so kind in helping us get back on the road. Made a bad situation turn out as well as possible. Thanks so much!

I live in Mo. and my son and I are driving through to Lou.Ky. to visit family. It's 4:35pm on thurs. night and I think I have a gas leak on my car. I had hit something on the highway and when i stopped at the Mt.Vernon exit to get gas, gas was going all over my feet at the end of my fill up and the gas attendant who got under my car insisted i had a gas leak. All the other shops I called wouldn't give me the time of day. They said I would be on a week waiting list.....blah blah blah. I called Felty's! They had already left for the day. THEY TURNED AROUND AND WENT BACK TO THE SHOP FOR ME! COME TO FIND OUT AFTER MR.FELTY HAD RUN A TEST AND CHECKED OUT UNDERNEATH MY CAR, I had just been paranoid from hitting something on the interstate and over filled my tank causing gas to spill out. (yes how embaressing) however you cannot be to careful. I did have my son with me. and I'd rather be safe than sorry. He could have charged me whatever and told me whatever and I would have paid it because

On the road from peoria to florida our car died outside Mt. Vernon. The tow truck driver recommended Felty's Auto repair James found a bad alternator and replaced it while we had breakfast. The Felty family are very friendly and honest if I lived closer I would always use their service. Thank you for getting us back on road you did a great job.

Dear Friends at Felty's Automotive,Thanks you so much for "Saving" our ski trip. This was a once in a life time opportunity for us, and without your sacfifice none of it would have been possible. We can never tell you how much we appreciate you taking the time to help us. The truck worked flawlessly the rest of the trip.I don't know if you are Christians or not, but your act of kindness certainly demonstrated the kind of love Christ showed for human kind when he died for our sins.Thanks Again for fixing our fuel pump on a cold Saturday night!

My car broke down at 9 pm on the interstate with my one year old son in the backseat. I called up a relative who gave me a list of different automotive shops near by. I called 5 different shops in the Mt. Vernon area, and not a SINGLE one answered my phone call. Finally, I tried F&H Automotive and someone answered my call! Within 10 minutes, two gentleman arrived at the scene - a tower and a mechanic! My car had to be towed in to the shop. My son and I rode back with the mechanic to the auto shop so I could wait for my husband who worked in Mt. Vernon as well. The mechanic even helped me put in my son's carseat into his vehicle! I learned that the mechanic's name was James Felty (I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS MECHANIC!!!) Whenever we arrived back at the shop, the mechanic called his partner Scott Headley and they both started working on my car THAT NIGHT! My husband got off work and met at the shop. He couldn't believe that these two gentleman were working on our car that night! My son and I went home with my husband and the next afternoon, my car was ready! Best of all, the service was very reasonable. Thanks to all of F&H's hard work and support I have started sending my whole family and everyone I know to them! IT'S ABOUT TIME WE HAVE A BUSINESS IN OUR AREA THAT TRULY CARES ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS!!!
