I live at that place for almost four years and I can say that FOR THE LAST TWO YEARS there's a constant remodelling and reconstruction. It's absolutely impossible to sleep, rest or work from home during business hours. It's like living on a construction site and again, I repeat. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR THE LAST TWO YEARS. When I shared my complains with the manager, he said that this will not stop anytime soon. I appreciate the honesty. I'm just wondering - how families with babies are living there? I'm not leaving, because it's close to my office and because I live there for four years, the rent (for me) is a bit below the market, but again - is not nearly enough to compensate the demolition noise. If I had to find a place now, I would never choose Palo Alto Plaza and I would never recommend it to a friend or colleague, unless they are 100% hearing impaired ...

P.S. Any review here, about this place, that "forgets" to mention the noise, is most certainly written by somebody who was paid to write it. It's Monday morning and the workers are demolishing something in the hallway as I'm writing this ...

Recently moved out

An acceptable place to live, but on the pricy side for Mountain View. Despite the fact that it's called Palo Alto Plaza, it's not in Palo Alto, although it's quite close to the border.

I didn't really enjoy the time I spent here, but I didn't mind it either.

Pros:

- Quiet (as long as you're not facing the carwash.)

- Well manicured grounds

- Gated community

- Parking. For me it was about 30 paces from the exit to my reserved place. There was also plenty of additional parking.

- Pricy ($1450 for a studio.)

Cons:

- Tiny kitchen

- Moldy grout in bathroom, peeling paint in a few places. Shortly before I moved out the bottom of the bathtub started to peal away.

- Limited three prong outlets!!! These are only in the kitchen and bathroom. If you want to plug your computer into a grounded surge protector (and you do) you have to run an extension cord from the kitchen into the living room. Then you can spend the remainder of your time tripping over it.

- Insulation (or the lack thereof). Heat goes out in the winter and in in the summer.

- The management switched shortly before I moved out. The new management was distinctly less friendly and helpful than the previous incarnation.

- Hallway remodel. It's very nice. I'm also quite sure they'll figure it into their prices. Personally, I don't live in the hallway, and I'm annoyed at being awoken a couple times in the morning due to construction.

- Decided to repaint the apartment on my dime (charging to my deposit).
