I've wanted to be in medicine my whole life. My mom was a nurse, and hearing her stories made nursing feel like the right option for me. She worked in surgery, but she would see patients before and after, and she would tell stories of how she held their hands and how she had the opportunity sometimes to pray with patients. And I just felt like that was a really cool thing as a nurse to get to do that, to comfort patients at their most vulnerable. I love my patients. Mountain View is a small community, and I?m already getting to know patients. I want them to know when they walk into the room that they matter and that they're important to me, and that I really do care about them. That's why I went into nursing, because I care about people. I want them to know that I'm going to do everything I can to listen to them and to get to the bottom of what's bothering them. I?m going to make them feel heard and figure out what's going on while making sure they feel well cared for.
