- Dr. Byron Hapner was board certified in obstetrics and gynecology in 1996. He graduated from Vassar College, earned his medical degree at New York College of Osteopathic Medicine, and completed his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at The Long Island College Hospital, where he served as Chief Resident in 1993-94. Dr. Hapner entered private practice in South Jersey in 1994, while continuing to teach medical students. He has also taught family practice residents at Underwood-Memorial Hospital. Dr. Hapner has a special interest in new and advanced surgical techniques, including laparoscopic hysterectomy and Essure for permanent contraception without an incision (www.essure.com). He and his wife have a daughter in college.
