Provided by YP.comI attend GCI, as a current Freshmen.
PROS: As of currently, I really do appreciate everything my teacher does, as she inspires me to become the best cosmetologist I can be. Mrs. Rashonda, the freshman class cosmetology teacher, provides structure and understanding in a professional setting. Mrs. Julia, the financial aid advisor makes completing your financial aid so easy, and always wants to ensure that the students can receive as much federal help as they possibly can. Our admissions coach, Mrs. Kyrstal, truly knows how to get you involved within the school. She ensures that you continue to receive the best education possible. Most of the instructors can teach very well, and are informed and up to date on all lessons. This school includes anything from massage therapy, to nail technology, to cosmetology, and much more.
CONS: Lack of structure in some classes.
Overall, I really do enjoy attending this school, as the professionalism and education have shown me, and continue to train me to become the best cosmetologist I can be with the ability to overcome any challenge presented to me.

Provided by YP.comUnfortunately, I had attended this school. I will start from day one. On day one, you're greeted with the admissions team. They will pressure, and manipulate you into going to GCI by persuading you while you're on the spot. They will explain "your dream school" atmosphere. Second, financial aid. You will call, and call, and call..... and call, but never get a response. If you plan on having student loans, etc, good luck. You will never have the opportunity to set an appointment up due to no one answering the phone, and IF YOU DO have an appointment, they usually forget, and are not present. Third, the curriculum. The curriculum is great, it is definitely the basics, but that is what school is, your foundation. Although the curriculum is great, the faculty is not. The freshmen cosmetology instructor is very self centered. She will most likely give her student the same assignment everyday, will hardly assist due to the fact she is either glued to her phone, or talking with another student about her personal life. The intermediate instructor (also the head instructor) seems to have the "my way is the right way" technique on instructing. If you were in a situation, and thought of a solution that will end up as the same outcome, but it was not anywhere near her thought, you would be told you were completely wrong. Favoritism was also a big deal. The senior instructor was a very very sweet woman. Someone I became close to. Unfortunately, people disrespected her (there will always be some rotten apples on the tee), causing her to have little meltdowns under pressure. Now, the owner. She is hardly at the Murfreesboro location. Yet, when she is, she snaps at every single person in her view as if they were her employers, rather than her students. I have been disrespected by this woman many of times on mistakes she has made with my documentations. If the school is not making the money she desires, do not even expect a good day She will yell at students in front of clients.
