Penn Aluminum International, located in Murphysboro, Ill., manufactures aluminum custom extruded shapes and drawn tubing. The company has three extrusion presses and a tube mill with a wide range of drawing and cutting capabilities. Several aging, annealing, and heat treat ovens support the extrusion and tube mill departments. Penn was founded in 1923 as The Penn Brass & Copper Company Penn. In 1971, the company was acquired by The Marmon Group, an international association of more than 100 autonomous member companies engaged in manufacturing and service businesses worldwide. In 1977, it changed its name to Penn Aluminum International. In 2005, Penn Aluminum International opened a 53,000 square foot facility in Harlingen, Texas, to supports its drawn tube product line.
