Oklahoma School for the Blind provides academic, social and vocational education, evaluations and outreach services to visually impaired students. The institution provides student assessment services that include medical and psychological services; and speech, physical and occupational therapies. The school has a recreational center that provides various activities, such as trips to the local skating rink, movies, swimming, girl scouts and community events. It offers several activities, including games, crafts, pool, air hockey, table shuffleboard, bumper pool and Nintendo. The institution additionally offers counseling services to the students. Oklahoma School for the Blind offers residential services during the week and transportation on weekends. The school was founded in 1897 and is located in Muskogee, Okla.
