Not the prettiest or fanciest office but Dr. West is a gentleman and thorough and knowledgable physician. Excellent primary care and walk-in doctor. I have only the best things to say about him.

I have just read a string of comments, including numerous grumblings about Dr. West and I absolutely do not understand it - he has always been very pleasant and helpful and patient, sometimes even funny! I have fortunately never had any real health issues, but if I did I would definitely trust his judgment.

I saw an older gentleman today and he was sweet as can be. He took time to give me a pep talk after learning about my anxiety. He showed great empathy and opened up about his own personal struggle with the same form of anxiety. It made me feel good to know I wasn't alone. In my opinion, he went above and beyond. Most doctors won't open up about themselves. They do their job and it's cut and dry. He reminded me of a grandfather figure saying the right thing at the right time. Lots of wisdom! His words will stick with me. I'm not sure he will ever know the positive impact he had on me today.

I received care from this facility for approximately 15 years and never received less than superb attention, diagnostic skills, or advice. Yes, Dr. West can be quite crusty, but always trustworthy. Dr. Timmerman was my primary doctor for many years, and I have never had a better one: great kindness, great judgment, and infinite patience. I miss both these good people since Dr. T left town and then I did. I am enormously grateful for their care.

I had been a patient of Dr. Timmerman for years. Sadly, she left so I was called by the office to ask if I wanted to continue going there with "Geoff".

I had a yearly physical, and he at first appeared attentive but easy to smirk at my past treatments. A neighbor needed a physical, and I suggested Geoff. She called and booked an appt with Dr. Burnham. Her complaint was he did everything but yawn. As it turns out he is not a Dr., but a pa, which no one at the front desk corrected either her or I on when we called. I now understand why he looked at my past history, since he worked at SCAAD, and appears to assume everyone is a potential addict.

I love Dr. Timmerman! I have had her as my primary care doctor since around 1995. I wouldn't go anywhere else unless I had to. I have seen Dr. West but I do not care for his bedside manner. Dr. Timmerman is sweet and understanding and she explains any questions I have for her. I hope she stays in practice for a very long time!

Dr. West is one of the very best doctors in this area. He was my family's physician thirty years ago. I retired to Florida but recently returned to this area for the summer. I became ill with some unknown ailment and after a really bad experience with another walk in clinic, I went to the Seaport Med Ctr and was fortunate to get Dr. West. He ordered tests, solved the problem and had me on meds the same day. It is true he can be a little curt (never heard him yell) but what genius has a perfect personality. I would highly recommend Dr. West and the Seaport Medical clinic.

I used to be happy with Dr . W...

I used to be happy with Dr . West at SMC. but I don't know if he is too busy or just hates his job. He yells and screams at patients and his staff is very unprofessional on the phone and at the desk. Both my boyfriend and I used to be patients but were forced to go else where for our medical needs. Being in the medical profession myself you have to learn how to deal with people and be compassionate. On a good note we both like Dr. Timmerman very much!

I disagree with the post by ai...

I disagree with the post by aicila writen on 10/08/2011. I trust Dr. West and in fact, he has always asked me, said to me, reminded me that it's my choice to take a certain drug or try another one. He never treats me like he's superior. He's a clever man, has a scope of experience that I like in a doctor and even outshines other doctors. Once I belly ached to a doctor in Woman's Care about a pain in my ovarian area, right around there. She said it was stomach problems. I went to Dr. West and he gave me a thorough examination, prescribed an MRI and told me to go to a GYN. Sure 'nough he was so right. If you feel Dr. West said or did something to you, then take the step to talk to him. He is a fine man and a knowledgeable doctor. Give him another chance. As for the medicines? I was once given two medicines in which the drug companies, both stated were not supposed to be combined. But in digging into more research, many people were on the two drugs with no problems.

I have been seen by the staff ...

I have been seen by the staff in this center for years and have never been happier!!! Both Dr. West and Dr. Timmerman are fantastic doctors who have always spent the much needed time to explain to me what was going on with me. The desk staff and nursing staff are also very friendly and do their jobs well. I have nothing but good things to say about any of them!!!!

I was impressed by Dr. Timmerm...

I was impressed by Dr. Timmerman and the office staff, however, Dr. West's bedside manner was a huge disappointment. I told Dr. West that I was not allowed to have amoxicillin because of a celcor allergy. He explained to me that the two medications have nothing to do with one another. I explained to him that the pharmacist would not allow me to take it because amoxicillin has a component of celcor. He then told me "When you open your mouth and don't know what you are talking about you look like a fool...I am the doctor and you are not". Well, he berated me some more and I almost left in tears. Well, I immediately did the research and I was correct (people with celcor allergies cannot have amoxcillin). This doctor is so arrogant and demeaning that he is willing the risk the health of a patient, to make a point and prove he is right, instead of looking up the information. I guess I wasn't the fool. I would rather take my business to North Stonington.
