For fifteen years I have had the opportunity to shop at Greer's. They have consistently and professionally always worked with me and within my budget. I am not the most decisive person - they have always demonstrated an abundance of patience and direction while helping me bring my vision to life. Lovely store, kind and experienced staff. I have been in multiple times and experience the SAME thing. I hate to be negative, but this shop is truly ridiculous. First of all, you advertise yourselves as an antique store, yet the sales associates make it REALLY clear they don't want "lookers"..(they'd rather stand around and gab with each other)... I do antique appraisals and have an extensive collection of 18th-19th century furniture, and in all my "buying" I've never been in a store so whimsically overpriced for essentially basic late-victorian furniture (predominately what accounts for the "bulk" of items in greers, for anyone who hasnt been but is wondering what's inside). Now obviously every store is entitled to their own pricing, so that's not really a huge concern; the real downfall is y'all's horrible saleswomen. I'm from the woodlands, Capitol of "snobbery" and it never even touched the level that y'all's pretentious SA's are at. And the sad part is, it's not like I've had just ONE "bad experience".... I've been in multiple times over a course of several YEARS, and yet each time the women are just as rude as before. I have often had to control myself from reminding them, THIS IS NACOGDOCHES, not New York, not a "chic boutique" on rodéo, climb down off your cloud of superiority and offer helpful, happy service. If I want to browse around, I don't want to be stared down the entire time. Also, learn how to communicate over the telephone. I called the other day and whatever fool took the call couldn't seem to even answer a simple "Do you offer upholstery REPAIRS" ,without being snotty and becoming flustered. Really ladies, if that's the type of attitude y'all have, save it for somewhere else, not a business. Break up y'all's little "huddle" you perpetually seem to have going on around the desk, paint on smiles, and do your jobs the right way.
