Philosophy Of Care Because 100 percent of my practice is dedicated to caring for women with a variety of breast conditions, I can keep current in a rapidly changing field. And while I am a surgeon, not all of my patients require surgery or have breast cancer. Some of my patients have other breast conditions like cysts or abnormal mammograms, and I work closely with my patients to develop the course of treatment that's right for them. If a patient does require surgery, I am trained as an oncoplastic surgeon, which means I can manipulate and reposition breast tissue following an excisional biopsy or lumpectomy, to maintain the natural contour of the breast. I can help my patients maintain their self esteem, which is so important to me. It's rewarding for me to develop relationships with my patients. I want each and every one to think of me as a partner, and ultimately, a friend who can help in the decision-making process and throughout the duration of her treatment. Learning from my patients, seeing their bravery if they're faced with a frightening situation, hearing their stories - it's wonderful to partner with them on every step of their journey.
