Isenberg Sheldon
43 E Jefferson Ave, Naperville, IL 60540
Sheldon Isenberg, LCSW has been a practicing counseling professional now for a long while in Naperville. Shelly sees a range of clients with the many issues that concern them from life disrupting issues to life transitional concerns. He is not only a good listener, but active with his clients in helping them find solutions for the issues they're seeking help with.
Some 60% of his practice is working with couples, some of whom are in family businesses together. Married some 45 years now to Raye, also a professional counselor, who shared the practice for some 30 years he knows something about what it takes to still enjoy each other after all these years.
Shelly helps couples change their stale, distancing and conflictual communication patterns with one another into conversations which help them with the problems they must face in their busy lives. Shelly enjoys working with a range of couples from pre-marital couples to couples in retirement. Many of the couples he deals with are coping with issues of:
* Intimacy & Infidelities
* Financial conflicts
* Anger & Stress Management
* Life Transitions and Decision Making
* Parenting Conflicts
40% of his practice is working with adult individuals. Many are dealing with relationship issues in their personal lives and in their careers. These issues result in depression, anxiety, anger, confusion,stress and people are looking for someone to guide them through these rough spots so they can regain a healthy orientation in their lives. Shelly has the perspective and judgement to be a good guide.
He has a particular ability in working with men who are very reluctant to come into counseling, either for themselves or with their partners, but need to if their lives are to be happier and less difficult for others. He can be down to earth and personally relate to the real concerns and pride that men have. Shelly also works very well with women who are seeking to grow themselves out of the stuck places within themselves and their relationships and who prefer to work with a man. In his couple's work he knows how to give each partner's needs the attention each deserves without ignoring where the other one is coming from. This facilitates moving from conflict and loneliness to conversation and connection.
Many of his individual clients are dealing with:
* Low self- confidence and self-worth
* Confusion about life direction
* Anger & Stress Management
* Relationship issues
* Psychological Aspects of Medical Problems
In his work with couples and individuals Shelly sees many clients with career and business difficulties. Many of these clients are professionals or have businesses of their own, some of which are family businesses. Sometimes their problems are causing business difficulties and sometimes business stresses are causing individual stresses.
