Provided by YP.comAfter a real good referral from another mechanic at Goodyear on 951 we drove our sons 2004 F150 truck to this facility for issues with it running rough at times, again we drove it there and dropped it off. However, Over one thousand dollars later in labor only and with my provided new motorcraft updated spark plugs, coils, sensors, etc they told me it actually ran worse. So we then installed new timing chains, camshaft sprockets, oil pump and water pump, since the mechanic assured us it was timing related and we felt it was too. Well, Another $1,500 later we are told it was still running bad and we needed to pay another $1500 to pull the left head and inspect oil passages because the motor was probably gunked up from lack of routine oil changes, which I had records on and it was done religiously . However, I wasn't buying it this time so I pulled the plug here and I had the truck taken out by FLATBED since it WOULDNT run, I turned the key and it couldn't run, it stumbled very rough like an old tractor and died. So I walked back in and asked what the hell was going on here and they said " it won't run," I said "no kidding" but I drove it in there and after so much time and money invested should be able to drive it out in better shape, not worse. Whereas, They offered no explanation or apology ,actually acted like they didn't care. So after towing it home, we hired a real Ford mechanic and we pulled the covers off the timing chains and found it was done completely wrong and off several degrees from TDC, I texted the pictures to Mike showing how bad it was off and then I called Mike for an explanation and he said it must have "jumped timing " and I asked him then "why then did you deliver our sons truck like this to us if you knew that". He offered no reply again. Also, Brand new Hydraulic chain tensionisers won't allow it to "jump timing" . So at our home the new mechanic correctly reset the 2 VVTI camshaft phasers, hydraulic chain tensionisers and timing chains correctly and it now runs like new. The engine was not bad like he said it was, furthermore, they even drained the R22 from the AC system and never put it back, the AC blew ice cold before taking it there and then hot afterwards. Moreover, There were stripped bolts and lose bolts, etc. 3 weeks later and a ton of money wasted. Our expectations were so far from met and we had a very bad experience here, flushing over three thousand dollars down the drain.Whereas, We could have bought a new motor for less.In closing, I am Hoping this was an isolated incident and think that the owner should watch his people do the work more closely. I don't think they are Ford or ASE certified but who knows, if so I stand corrected. This job was not hard to figure out and I was chasing the rabbit down the black hole with this shop. Now because of our new mechanic the truck runs great and I can give it to our son.
