Chuck's Truck Accessories advertises (http://www.chuckstruckacc.com/):

“WE SPECIALIZE IN THE INSTALLATION…TRUCK ACCESSORIES, WE ALSO WELCOME OUR CUSTOMERS TO BRING ANY TRUCK ACCESSORIES NO MATTER WHERE PURCHASED FOR INSTALLATION WE WILL INSTALL…STEPS, RUNNING BOARDS,..”

I took to Chuck's a set of Westin brand running boards and the installation kit that was specific to my vehicle to have them installed. When I came to pick up my van, I looked under the van to check out the work. What I saw was a totally botched job.

The installation kit that was specific to my vehicle consists of eight hangers—four for each side—plus a brace to be used on the driver side. They had only installed three hangers on each side. Of these two were mounted in the wrong locations, one hanger was on the incorrect side of the vehicle and the driver side brace was on the passenger side, where it served no purpose at all.

When these mistakes were called to the attention of the installer, he argued he had done everything thing correctly and that all eight hangers were not necessary. I asked for the missing hangers and hardware, he said they had been thrown away and that he was not going to get them. When Chuck became aware of the situation, he looked at the installed running boards and agreed that the job had been done incorrectly. He did not offer to make it right. His only consolation was to tell the installer to get me the missing parts. The installer only showed me the trash bin
into which the parts had been thrown. I had to dump the bin and retrieve the parts myself.

Later when I was able to get the running boards installed correctly by another source, not only was it necessary to seal the unused holes where the hangers had been incorrectly placed, replacements hardware had to be obtained as not all had been found in the trash bin.

Second trailer hitch I've had ...

Second trailer hitch I've had them install on my passenger car. They are not fancy, but they've always gotten it done when they said they would and they're less expensive than U-Haul.
