The Office of the District Attorney General represents the state of Tennessee in criminal cases that occur within Davidson County, Tenn. Its criminal division handles felony charges brought in the general sessions and criminal courts. The office also has a juvenile division that handles cases related to juvenile delinquent acts. In addition, the Office of the District Attorney General operates a victim witness services division that provides a variety of support services for victims of violent crimes. It also reviews citizen complaints related to alleged criminal activity, consults with law enforcement agencies on on-going investigations and provides legal advice to the police. The office also has units of lawyers with specializations in handling cases related to child physical and sexual abuse, drug and death penalty prosecutions, domestic violence, and fraud and economic crimes. The Office of the District Attorney General is located in Nashville, Tenn.
