WebsiteJohn Overton High School, founded in 1958, provides academic instruction and enrichment programs to more than 1,650 students. The school administers the English Language Learners program. Its academic course includes math, life skills, music, science, art, physical education and social studies. John Overton High School also employs guidance counselors who work to develop positive interpersonal relationships and provides career advice. The school encourages students to take part in a range of athletic activities, including baseball, bowling, basketball, soccer, cheerleading and cross-country. Its library has a collection of books and periodicals that complement the academic curriculum. In addition, the school operates French, interact and beta clubs.
