Founded in 1972, the Tennessee Board of Regents, also known as TBR, is one of the largest public higher education systems in the United States. The system operates more than fives universities, over 10 community colleges and nearly 25 technology centers in Tennessee. It serves approximately 180,000 students annually. The system s colleges offer degrees and technical certificates. Its campuses include Tennessee State University, Tennessee Technological University, Cleveland State Community College and Motlow State Community College. It is coordinated by the Tennessee Higher Education Commission. The Tennessee Board of Regents provides classes to students in more than 80 counties in the state.
