The first Waffle House restaurant was opened on Labor Day in 1955 in Avondale Estates, Ga. Since then, it has grown into a chain of more than 1,500 company and franchise-owned casual restaurants in over 25 U.S. states. It serves a variety of waffles, steaks, omelets, hamburgers, country ham, pork chops and grits. The restaurant serves specialty dishes, such as Bert's chili, Walt s soup, Alice s iced tea and Lib's patty melt. It offers hash browns in eight different ways. Waffle House serves more than 3 million pounds of grits each year and over 10,000 T-bone steaks each day. Apart from serving food, the restaurant supports various health and human service organizations, youth and education programs, and disadvantage and other civic causes. It conducts in-house events and programs, such as The Great Miller Lite Chili Cook-off and the Waffle House World Waffle Eating Championship.

I don't eat here very often, but when I do it is always a pleasant experience. Employees are very friendly and work quickly! Food is very good too!

Went here after a "red eye" from Las Vegas. It hit the spot. Everything was freshly made and good.

The first time I went, I was over charged, nearly double. The second try, nearly a year later, bugs were everywhere. Recently, we stopped by, sat in the booth in the back - we were swarmed by what I thought were gnats. I looked around and others were leaving as they walked in. We tried not to be snobbish but we realized they were sewer flies. We notified the employees but they seemed to have cared less or they were embarrassed. I feel bad for the majority of the staff because they were so hard working, so early. I'm just not down with bugs unless it's a picnic : ( I blame management.

Always fast and friendly

When I have wanted breakfast on my way into work and get that craving for smothered hash browns. I pass by several Waffle Houses. One day I started calling to see if I could get some on my way into work. I couldn't believe my ears when one told me it would be a half hour wait and another told me 45 minutes. But this one has always been under 10 minutes and my order has never been wrong and the staff is always great!!! For this they get 5 stars!!!
