I have been mislead too! FRAUD!

I wish I found these reviews before I agreed to their services. Found the coupon, did the same run around and found out that they wanted over $900 for a whole cleaning. After that, they promised they would give us a customized filter and that was in March 2010. Now it's almost Sept 2010 and nothing. They even told me they have a new owner and they haven't shipped the filter. DON'T GO WITH THIS SERVICE!!!

I've been robbed!

I called 911 air duct cleaning 1-877-807-5777 with a coupon for $34.99. Two men came and told me that they could not work on the duct because my roof has asbestos. He wanted to charge me $4725 to have the whole duct system replaced and for $1000 more to add in a new system. He said that he had to report me to the city for asbestos. I told him that i had a home inspection and there were nowhere on the report that there were asbetso. I keep on telling him that i only wanted the ducts to be done with the coupon and don't have the money to pay for anything extra. Because he said that my roof had esbesto, they couldn't do it but insist that i have the furnace clean for $600, a discount from $900. I told him i do not have the money and i have to call my husband. Then the technician, Dan told me that "if you were my wife i would let you." The other worker started to clean the furnish without my consent. When i spoke with my husband, he told me that he did not want the work to be done. I told Dan to stop the work and he said that he added chemicals and said that i owe him $345 for a 5 minute job without my consent or else he will have the collection company put a lien on my house. He started to add things on the invoice which weren't there in the first place. I kept on telling him that i only called to pay for the ducts $34.99 and with no extra work to be done. He took my coupon and the competitor coupon with him. He also insisted that we should go to my bank and pull out the money. I felt threathen and scared. He took $218 in cash and $100 in check for a 5 minute job cleaning the furnace without my consent. I called my bank and made a stop payment on the check and will be filing a police report for fraud.

911 Air Duct Cleaning - UNSCRUPULOUS!!!

I scheduled an appointment for the $34.95 air duct cleaning special. The worker went into the attic to inspect the furnace. A few moments later he showed me a tear in one of the air ducts and said it had to be replaced. Over the next 15 mins. he quoted me repair prices starting at $450 and ending with $103. The whole time he said he would write up the order differently so his boss would not know that he was giving me a cheaper price. I stood firm and told him that if he could not give me the $34.95 special, he could leave. He performed the 10 min. "cleaning", and left. From the moment he left, the air conditioning did not work. I phoned the office and spoke with the supervisor who denied the workers ever touching the furnace. He was very rude and obnoxious. Needless to say when I went into the attic, the worker had shut the furnace switch off, apparently to get back at me for not paying $450 for duct repair. With these turn of events, I question whether the tear in the duct was intentionally done prior to it being shown to??? Stay away from this dishonest company!!!

Stay away from these crooks

This company is runned by a bunch of crooks. 911 Airduct is not a California registerd entity nor a member of NADCA ( we have confirmed this fact with NADCA headquarter in DC).

911 Airduict has no office address nor a contractor license number. Later we found that the technican, Danny who came to our house had no license either.

The so-called superviser, Mike threatened us to pay for a 45-minute furnice cleaning for $2500 because his technician had already spayed some chemical cleaning solution into our furnance. However, we stopped the check after 6 hours. Just let everyone knows that you have the right to cancel the contract within 72 hours bylaw.

Please report to NADCA if you feel that you have been ripped off. Good luck!

A bunch of crooks

We called them in for a whole-house air duct cleaning advertised for $34.95.

When they arrived, they told us we needed a whole furnace cleaning and quoted us a price over $800. We asked if he could quote us a lower price. While he was on the phone waiting for his boss to come up with the quote, the other guy started the job. (He was just vacuuming stuff so we assumed he was cleaning the area or starting on the air ducts.) When the quote came back at almost $700 we told them we didn't want it done. They said they had already taken out our furnace and sprayed disinfectant and would be charging us for it, even though we hadn't even authorized the job. (Not to mention that the EPA recommends that disinfectants NOT be used unless they were registered with the EPA -- when we asked to see the bottle, they said it was EPA-approved but wouldn't let us see the bottle, saying it was poured into a smaller bottle from a larger one.)

He basically called us liars and called his boss. When we talked to the boss, he yelled at us and threatened to call the police and take us to court. In the end we had to pay for the disinfectant and air ducts, totaling almost $200.

This business is shady beyond belief. We will be reporting them to the Better Business Bureau.

Borderline ripoff

My experience with this company has bordered on ripoff.

I would stay away, regardless of what a good price they may quote:

911 Air Duct Cleaning came out to my home on 3/5/2010. Their coupon listed “$34.95 for Entire House Air Duct Cleaning”. They charged my wife $76 stating I had 2 vent systems, 1 upstairs and 1 downstairs. Nothing on their coupon listed “per vent system”. Furthermore, they never cleaned the upstairs vent system (which is a separate system). They attached a suction to 2 vents downstairs, without even taking covers off, for approximately 10 minutes each, and called that vent cleaning. Their own website listed the cleaning process very clearly:

Taken from www.911airduct.com

“The duct cleaning process followed by United Air Duct Cleaning Inc, a subsidiary of Dapper Duct Inc, is in strict accordance with NADCA standards.”

“Cut an access hole in the main duct work, and attach a negative air machine to the hole. Remove the vent covers in the home/property. Clean the grill/diffuser (opening to the air duct) and clean inside the vent using a HEPA filtered backpack vacuum. After cleaning is complete, each vent cover is plugged with foam to ensure that debris does not flow through a vent opening during cleaning and creates a powerful negative air pressure inside the duct work after the vacuum is turned on.”

None of this was ever done.

What makes me mad was that only my wife was home at the time, who's English is a second language, and they completely ripped her off.

I called “Johnny” the manager on 3/6 at 877-807-5777 and was told he would check with the service tech and get back to me on 3/8. Never got a call. I called back 3/8 afternoon, and Johnny completely forgot who I was. Told me he would check with the tech who was “out of town” and will call back on 3/12. Never got a call. It was evident that instead dealing with a customer complaint as a reputable company wound, Johnny was avoiding me.

911 AIR DUCT and CARPET 877-807-5777 A SHAM !

What a mess. Firstly, my Wife was quoted $39.95 for a routine duct cleaning. She agreed and an appointment was set for today between the hours of 2:00-4:00pm. At 4:05pm she phoned the 877-807-5777 number to inquire of their whereabouts or as to why they never showed up. The dispatcher 'Mike' seemed confused and stated that he thought the appointment was 3:00-6:00pm.

Clearly in the wrong, he mentioned he would contact a driver and would call us back in 15 minutes to update their whereabouts. Fourty minutes later, I phoned 'Mike' back to question why he didn't even return the call he promised.

His next excuse was "our driver was rear-ended in Pasadena" but he would locate another driver that could come sooner.

Aggravated and discouraged by their complete incompetancy, I stated to "forget the deal and that if they cant read a clock, they most certainly can't clean a vent." At that point, 'Mike' offered to lower the price to 34.95 and add a 30% discount on top of the 'coupon' price' if we would give the company another chance. We agreed and were told a driver was finishing up in Valencia and had a twenty minute drive to our location. The ONLY way to get here from Valencia in twenty minutes is by air.

Anyway, we agreed to wait for what shoud have been an hour or so. At 8:30pm a two man crew arrived at our door.

They refused to honor the very same discounts 'Mike' had promised AFTER the work was completed!

Although I believe the technician was competant and professional, the most disturbing issue's were the lies and deciet at the dispatchers level.

Iam not at all convinced that the dispatcher and the owner of the 911 Air Duct and Carpet Cleaning are not one in-the-same.

I would not reccommend this liar to anyone.
