After being in the contracting business for 20 years, and an A+ accredited, 9 year honor roll BBB business member, I though I had seen everything when it came to how unscrupulous other contractors can be. We worked on the same site as this company. We had a large pile of clean fill dirt on site from our excavation. A1 took it upon themselves to not only add to the pile, but mix chunks of their concrete in it, and, as a bonus, washed out their concrete truck in it for good measure, rendering it unusable for the next project we had intended on using it for. Then, as a gesture of genuine douchebaggary, "offered" to haul it all off site for us $100! Needless to say I was shocked. While I am certain this company knows how to do flat work, these actions, and the fact that they require full payment up front, so you (the customer) will have no repercussions if something is wrong, should be a red flag as to the character of this individual.
