I was told by Salesman that I could cancel contract after a year, when I told him that a 3yr contract was a deal breaker. He even called his boss from my dining room table. I was in cancer treatment and was looking at going on disability in a years time. After my year of service and the fact that I am having to retire on disability ADT tells me that I have a 3 yr contract. I have written letters to the Fla Atty General, Pres of ADT Security & their legal counsel. This salesman lied to sign me up for service and ADT should be made to abide by the verbal contract made to me.

I agree with the review. These people are using false scare tactics to get you to buy their system. That is pathetic and wrong! They came around to my after dark when my daughter was home alone and scared with very same tactic. They told her there were increased break-ins in our neighborhood. I checked with the local police and it was not true!

I am writing this review to warn all potential customers of ADTS. In late 08 I received a knock on the door and was greeted by a saleswoman from ADTS claiming my house was endanger of burglars that were breaking into local houses in my area.(Loxley,AL). This being said I allowed her to come in. At the time I had a roommate who was a third party witness to the entire conversation. I decided to purchase a service plan from the saleswoman being in fear for my family. The salewoman also claimed that ADT was very leniate with customers needing to break their contract due to financial reasons. With this being said to me I felt secure with what i was being told. .......A few months past and my roommate was forced to move out due to family needs. Therefore my income was shorted $500.00 a month. Rememebering what the ADTS saleswoman had told me about breaking my contract I was secure in my decision to cancel my contract.
