Provided by YP.comI called American Home Shield because the pipe that leads to my spa's filtering system was leaking really badly. In fact it was like a strong geiser shooting out of where the pipe attaches to the filtering unit. Keep in mind that this spa was installed in 1987. So these pipes and the filtering unit are pretty old. America Home Shield called American Pool & Tile Cleaning out. Their appointment was for yesterday. I called the company when the appointment time had come and passed and the guy said he got my appointment time mixed up with someone that cancelled and he had to reschedule. Ok, fine we reset the time for today. He shows up and looks at the pipe. Then he says that it was cracked because the filter moves around. Then he changes his story and says that someone stepped on the pipe and cracked it. I could not believe what he was insinuating. He said that he would have to call America Home Shield and tell them that the pipe was stepped on which they would not cover. These were allegations based on nothing. He said that cold pipes don't crack like that. Well, they must because that's what happened. This filtering unit is against a fence and not in a walking area. These pipes are very old and it does get cold in the winter and very hot in the summer. I saw a pipe crack for the pool and this is above and attached to the wall. Alot of pressure goes through thoses pipes and yes it can cause cracks in old worn down pipes. This man then asked for his deductible payment. I refused and I asked him to leave. He then said there were foot prints on the pipe. There were no footprints. Furthermore, I tried covering the leak with pipe clue which covered the whole leak area which he had to scrape off to see the crack so how could he see foot prints. This guy was extremely unprofessional. He then called American Home Shield and told them someone stepped on the pipe. Now I have to officially write a letter of complaint.
