Provided by YP.comMy husband went there to get some new glasses and it was pretty bad. The receptionist didn't ask for his insurance card and seemed surprised that he even had vision insurance. The doctor seemed okay, she wrote a prescription and sent him back up front. That was the point when it really went downhill.
They had a very small selection of frames and we couldn't find anything we liked. The sales clerk was no help in suggesting anything, and then seemed annoyed that we were so picky. She was standing there telling us she'd only been working there for a few months and didn't know what the doctor's instructions meant.
Finally after half an hour of finding nothing, we said we would just pay for the exam and move on. Then they realized they hadn't put his insurance in yet. We were told there was 1 person on the entire staff who handled insurance claims and of course she was gone that day. We said we wanted to see a manager. Then we were told the manager was quite busy and the wait to see her would be over an hour.
Hubby said he was not sitting in the lobby that long. They gave him his prescription and said he could leave and then come back. So we went out and then returned. The supervisor came over and tried to do the insurance. She was sitting there saying out loud "that's the last time I give someone a Saturday off."
So the supervisor is an older lady and she's telling us she doesn't know the computer well. She plinks around on the keyboard for another 30 mins and then gives up. We ask about calling tech support or something. She says corporate provides the help desk number and it's a nightmare on weekends. Finally, she says she can't figure it out so she'll have to wait for Monday.
Hubby and I finally stand to leave (it's been 3 hours total now) and then she asks if we want to go ahead and pick out some frames. He was like NO. So he ended up going to LensCrafters and spending 400 to get what he wanted. And now they're going to call him on Monday when they get insurance figured out, so he gets to make a 3rd trip over there to pay for the exam.
Save yourself a hassle and just be willing to pay somewhere else.

Provided by YP.comI have been going to America's Best for years and usually the staff is very professional and friendly. My last experience at the Sterling Heights location was very unpleasant. The doctors were great but the other staff were not. I started by calling for an appointment they were short and rude to me on the phone. I went in hoping that my experience would be different but that was not the case. I had to wait 30 minutes over my scheduled appointment. Then the lady helping me pick out my contacts was obviously irritated to even be at work and was rolling her eyes at me and had a look of disgust on her face. I found this to extremely rude and unprofessional, now I have to reconsider even going back because my experience was that bad and uncomfortable.

Provided by YP.comCustomer Service, Doctor and all staff were very professional. I had no problems with wait and received my contacts and glasses at a fantastice price and in a timely manner. I am very impressed with America's Best. I have referred many people to the establishment and they have had no complaints either. Great Job Americas Best.

Provided by YP.comIf I had read these reviews priior to going to that place then I would be a much happier person now. My first time the there with an appt. I still waited almost three hours to be seen. The staff were lounging around and passed by me several times. When I finally got in to see the doctor (who was very nice) she said that she saw me sitting there for quite some time. Several people had come in after me and were seen before me. When I inquired, it was like I was a bad person because the staff whispered and pointed at me in a derogatory manner. DON'T GO TO THIS PLACE!!! And, with such low prices you get what you pay for...
It's been almost a month and I still don't have no eyeglasses. Everytime I call there they keep telling me that it will be in anyday now. Next week I'm just call the Better Business Bureau and lodge a formal complaint. And, at some point in the near future I will demand a refund!!! DON'T GO THERE!!! PLEASE.

Provided by YP.comTook my family after getting bad service at a optical retailer in the mall- we got in right a way and got a great service. Really liked the doctor. Lot of knowledgable staff- nice place, didn't get the advertised 2 for $69 because we wanted upgrades but well priced and we did get the club which I think is a great deal! Met the manager- introduced herself, offered to helpm ( nice change from the other place) - I would definitley recommend to myother family and friends! Very professional and friendly atmosphere! I read some of the other reviews- the other customers I saw in there all seemed very happy to me!

Provided by YP.comMy husband and I went to this store 2 weeks ago. The service stinks. The wait was aweful. And for $475.00 for one pair of glasses is rediculious! At that price we could have went to someplace a bit more professional. And needless to say, he still doesn't have his glasses.

Provided by YP.comThe service at this location is terrible. They forgot I was there and even after calling it to their attention I was made to wait in line an additional 30 minutes. After ordering my glasses it was almost impossible to get information about when they would be back and when I finally got the information and arrived at the office to pick up my glasses it took forever for them to locate them. Do yourself a favor and don't go! Find some other place to put your money. I also wanted to add that while I was waiting to pick up my glasses; I overheard on man who was returning a pair of glasses because of a bubble in the lense and they would listen to his wife you had been trying to tell them about it when she picked the up and another lady who was trying to get glasses for her son and they had lost them. The whole place seems to be in need of some organization.
