Provided by YP.comThey deserve zero stars! I'm convinced the positive reviews are false because this was the worst experience I've had with a company. I don't know how they stay in business. Please please please stay away from this company. I don't want anyone to have to go through what I did. Incredibly unprofessional. Contracted the move out to metro relocations (worse moving company ever). The company contact is a dispatcher's personal cell phone and he will ignore your calls if he feels like it, even during business hours. The driver showed up asking for more money than expected. When we told him it was a lower amount he said okay but would not take exact change. As he didn't want quarters so we had to pay a higher amount. I paid for a dish pack but they started in the living room and never made it to the kitchen. I was told the boxes that I paid for were full and that was that. I couldn't pay for more boxes even if I wanted to. When booking I was told my belongings would be weighed and the price would likely go down because the estimates were high for my actual belongings. Not only do they not weigh the truck but once my things were across the country I was told I took up more space on the truck and had to pay $400 more. This is after my stuff sat in a warehouse for a week because their driver "didn't have the energy" to make a 6 hour drive. Once they finally arrived a week after I was promised, they delivered the wrong things. A driver quit during the delivery and my stepdad was left unloading a truck until midnight. Upon opening boxes the next day and finding none of my belongings it took the company 2 days to come get someone else's things and deliver mine. Once delivery was finally complete I noticed I was missing $800 in personal property. The company is so terrible I know I'll never get my things back or the money. Please do not deal with this company. You don't save any money by going with them. You'll only lose in the end.

Provided by YP.comStay Far Away From This Company !!!!
They're Nothing but a big SCAM!
They'll give you a low rate at first , then will basically double the price on the moving day!
I had the worst experience EVER deaing with this company!
First, They become Very Rude when you questioned them about all the extra fees they hide !
They are Brokers , so they will charge you more then going to a moving company directly ! Plus, It was about 3 companies involved and everyone gave me the run around!
They had charged me $75 to wrap a piece of glass from my tv stand and forgot to deliver it on delivery ! Plus, they forgot my sound bar, and Grooming Table !
( I Still Never got it, Heard back from them , nor got reimbursed for the items)
I would NEVER refer them to ANYONE !
Word Of Advice, Stay Far Away From Them !

Provided by YP.comAvoid this company! They will sell you on how much cheaper their services are but, that will cost you in the long run.
They under quote you on how much cubit feet you'll need on a truck & when the shipping company that they assign to you show up, they charge you EXTRA! This happened despite them going over with us what size boxes to use and doing an hour long intensive inventory of all box and furniture sizes days before the shipping company showed up. This has happened to me & to a friend moving across states at the same time.
The shipping companies they send are independent contractors with terrible reviews & are scammers. My friend & I were assigned 2 different companies and got the same results. She moved from Queens NY, To Tampa, FL. They won't give a set delivery date either. I'm so sorry I ever went with them. They made the moving process HORRIBLE!!!
This is what happened with the company they assigned to me. My alarms went off when State to State didn't show up in an official truck. The driver and point person immediately with trying to fit our stuff told us we that they wouldn't fit and if we gave him $400 more he'll make sure that hey fit. They showed up with an incorrect contract and berated with your bosses are too heavy, my boss won't be happy etc.. We had to pay extra $$$ and TV box was stolen. When they arrived they paid "special" attention to which box had our tv. Upon delivery boxes were damaged and our stuff broken. They charged extra for steps over 7 with a flight of stairs being 12 to 13. The office was no help and their claims process it's impossible to meet the requirements for the claims process as they need pics and receipts of items lost/stolen. They didn't honor our the storage contract they gave us. What was a $1700 quote from Assurance Van Line Services Inc turned into a bill for $3200.
Moving states is stressful, going with this company will make your experience HELLISH. AVOID! See Better Business complaints & believe them.

Provided by YP.comI seriously doubt if any of the so called good reviews were by actual customers. This company is a broker whose agents just out and out lie to you. They changed their story each time I spoke to them. First the person told me my stuff would be delivered the same day - Ohio to Pennsylvania move or at the lease the next day - didn't happen - my stuff is sitting in a warehouse lord knows where to be delivered lord knows when. They added costs to my estimate when they arrived that were not mentioned at time of booking. They changed pick up times - three different times - they hold your deposit hostage if you aren't happy with the additional costs - they are not a good company to do business with! Very unhappy with the service and all of the lies!

Provided by YP.comIt is virtually impossible to control (or understand) your move when you use Assurance Van Lines. While your deposit is refundable (9+ days before your first available move date) they will tell you that the move includes $10K of insurance, your stuff should arrive within 2 to 5 days, and the estimated cost will be accurate as long as you properly represented the stuff you need to move.
The reality is that the insurance only covers $.60/pound. This means you will only get $20 if they completely destroy your $500 TV. There is no guaranteed delivery date. They will aim to deliver within a month of the first date you are able to accept delivery. If you aren't available to accept delivery they will charge you $650/day. If they take longer than a month to deliver they may pay you $50 for each day they are late. The price they quote is only accurate if the movers do a good job loading your boxes (i.e. the movers charge for the space used on the truck vs the cubic feet of the items that Assurance quoted), if they can park whatever vehicle they choose to use within 100 feet of your front door and if they don't have to ascend/descend more than 12 steps on either side.
Now the kicker... Your contract with Assurance Van Lines indicates that all contract terms are overridden by the carrier's terms. You won't know the carrier until a day before they show up to load your stuff. They do not provide their terms in advance and so you will need to read them while the movers are waiting and they can charge you for the wait. If you don't agree with the terms you won't get your deposit back.

Provided by YP.comThis company uses BATE AND SWITCH tactics. Do not hire them. They added on over $1500 to my original binding estimate for charges I was told were included. Arrived 2 hours past pick up window. Terrible communicators re getting estimate of when my household would be delivered. Not a good company

Provided by YP.comI Don't normally leave reviews but in this case I just had to. I had a very good and rare experience with this moving company Assurance Van Lines. I move a lot and always run into issues with the movers or the company, stressing the whole time. I was promised a good experience and I got one, Assurance Van Lines not only delivered my belongings safely and unharmed to my new home, they delivered what they had promised and more. The movers were careful, courteous and polite, respectful, very knowledgeable and was eager to answer all my questions, they were available if I needed them or had questions. Thank You for a stress free positive move.

Provided by YP.comHORRIBLE HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!! I could not stress how much i would never recommend this company to anyone!! I had a horrible experience with Assurance Van Lines Inc. I recently just booked a move from NY to Houston where the sales representative Jaime Richards helped me and for over a month contacted me to convince me to book with him (horrible mistake).
Promises were made of how their quality assurance team would call me to make sure that the items on my inventory on the day of my move were the same as the inventory i gave him so i wouldn't be overcharged at the time of my move.
The arrival window was 10-2pm and they arrived at 330pm. The day of my move came, 3 guys came to my house and one of them which was the man in charge, his name was Alex could not have been more rude, unprofessional and disrespectful. He came inside, looked at my house and began to load the truck.
I was NOT given a new estimate of how much room my stuff was going to take. now it is the end of the night at 9pm and Alex gives me a whole new price and says that i went over the cubic feet i was estimated for and i now instead of paying $2500 have to pay over $5500. He hands me blank forms for me to sign and completely pushes me t sign. i declined and he says "i will repeat myself again since you don't understand" and went on about how the forms need to be signed. i was completely uncomfortable and i felt coerced to sign. i tried to take pictures of the blank doc and he did not let me..
it has now been almost 2 weeks and i call them and they keep saying they will call me back after putting me on hold for over 10 min, and ignoring my calls. i need to get my items delivered and they say they wont ship anything until the manager comes back to review the paper work which he has been out for over a week. i have no idea where my items are, my entire house, my clothes, all of my possessions are with them and no one is resolving anything.

Provided by YP.comPlease don't trust this company. Go with someone else! Very disappointed with all of their false promises. I still don't have my belongings. They are scam artists!

Provided by YP.comMy friend and I decided to move and hired Assurance van lines for this long distance task. The company managed to get our belongings in the same morning (sending two different vans on two different addresses) and we got the delivery in the same day. What can I say? They are well organized and have wonderful prices and we both could not find any damages. Highly recommended!

Provided by YP.comOn time and under budget! Thanks AVL!! The entire cross country move cost less that originally quoted. They delivered on every level and exceeded all of my family's expectations!

Provided by YP.comThey will never deliver stuffs on time. It's been 25 days and my stuffs are not yet delivered. Really froud and rude customer service. I have been calling for laat 2 weeks and always they say, my stuffs are on it's way. Please be away for this company.

Provided by YP.comI didn't know where to start in finding a moving service that would reasonably fit my budget and that I would trust to move my stuff all the way from Missouri to Utah. A site I found was designed to link consumers to a variety of moving companies and their unique quotes. I put my information in. After what seemed like an endless stream of phone calls, emails and frustrating sales people, I was pleased (better yet, RELIEVED) to speak with Assurance's representative John Williams.
John was patient, kind, genuinely cared about my circumstances, and was impressively thorough. He made sure I received the best price without sacrificing quality. John even gave me a tip on how to stop the incessant phone calls from other companies! The overall impression I got was that Assurance Van Line Services puts their customers first. So far, they've already made the move feel much easier/stress-free and I know if I have any questions/concerns I can easily contact John again (it seems phone numbers are recognized by their system and automatically transfers to your representative!).
I hope to leave an update after the official move, but thoroughly impressed thus far!
PS: Thank you, John, for taking my call even though it was your lunch break!! :)

Provided by YP.comDO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! They lied to us in so many ways and the second you sign the contract they stop answering your calls!! We were charged $800 extra at pickup and not to mention you have to pay 2/3s of the total amount in CASH before you even get your furniture!! I can't believe they even have 3 stars! Also the only criteria we had was for it to get there on or near the first of July so I had them give me a pickup date that would work with that and our furniture didn't even leave our pickup city until the 13th of July!! STAY AWAY

Provided by YP.comI used assurance to move my car from New Jersey to California. Rachel made my experience very pleasant and stress feee. She was very helpful with scheduling and rescheduling the pick up. Car made it with no problems in just four days. The driver was very nice and contacted me and kept me updated throughout the trip. Would recommend 10/10.

Provided by YP.comFinally we found a four bedroom house near my brother’s place which meant that my husband and the kids would have enough space for living. The only problem was how to get our things there for a reasonable cost. My father-in-law recommended Assurance van lines to my husband and we knew it was the real deal. Everything was delivered so quickly and without a single error! I LOVE THEM!

Provided by YP.comI hired them when I was moving old furniture from my parents’ house. The company did an awesome job, no damages or stolen things and everything was delivered on time. I paid really low price and that’s why I recommend Assurance van lines to my friends, because this company is really great for people who want a good company at a reasonable price.

Provided by YP.comHow this company gets a 5 star rating is unreal. I've already wrote my review and having to give them 1 star was way too much. All they do is sell you a contract and pass it on to a moving company. They have no power or authority after that. You're at the mercy of the movers. What was promised a 7-10 day move took over a month. All dispatch does is relay the message the moving company tells them. Don't use a broker! Go direct to the moving company so that someone can be held accountable.
