Tamsen Beseke is an active soloist, chamber, studio & orchestral musician.  She has given several premieres of concertos, chamber music, & operatic works. Her career includes performing with such artists as Placido Domingo, Luciano Pavarotti, Zubin Mehta, Joshua Bell & Gil Shaham. She has performed and recorded with pop stars like Ray Charles, Michael Jackson, Diane Schuur, George Benson, Barry White & Bobby Vinton.

Along with her position in the Los Angeles Opera Orchestra, Tamsen has been concertmaster of the Crystal Cathedral Orchestra, Los Angeles Master Chorale, and West Coast Symphony. She has been a longtime member of both Glendale and New West Symphonies.

As the Avanti Ensemble, Tamsen performs & contracts high quality professional musicians to play at weddings & special events. She provides private consultations to help the bride & groom personalize the music for their event.

Tamsen teaches violin & viola lessons as she has for over 35 years!  Her students range from ages 4 to 84 and she enjoys a great rapport with them.  Many have gone on to earn music scholarships & degrees and several have won competitions.  Some are professional musicians today.

Besides teaching new generations of musicians, Tamsen has helped hundreds of violin and viola players by inventing the ACOUSTIFOAM SHOULDER REST.  This is a unique improvement on traditional shoulder rests which enhances the quality of a player's sound and provides much-needed physical support.
