They made an extra effort to make me feel respected and attended to. They listened to every question or concern I had. They are by far the most respectful, courteous veterinarian I've met in Tallahassee in a long timre. They made my pet feel very comfortable and loved. I've been other places that had staff that could function professionally, but had very poor "people" and pet interaction skills. Dr. Summitt gave us options so we could make an informed decision and did not try to rush us to the most expensive/comprehensive plan of treatment. He was honest and supportive every step of the way. We had been looking for a veterinarian who would be as kind and compassionate as Dr. Ivan Barineau and had been unsuccessful until we faced a situation that required we find someone THAT DAY. I have been recommending Bannerman Pet Care to all my friends and co-workers since the day we had our first appointment.

I read the review below about "no cookie cutter medicine" and I want to share this with you. First, Mr. or Ms. Anonymous, 7 years ago I rescued a very sick puppy that my vet at the time wanted to euthanize because she had hereditary demodectic mange and had an allergic reaction to his "cookie cutter mange treatment." So, I decided to get a second opinion and by chance or fate I found Dr. Summit, he not only read all the research I had done he asked me to bring him anything I could find on the subject. He found my puppy a Canine Dermotologist and with her help and his willingness to try alternative methods my puppy is now almost 8 years old and has been medicine free for approx. 18 months and no signs of mange!! His openmindness saved her life. As well, he helped me through osteo sarcoma with my very old lab, willing to try anything we were willing to try and do whatever reasearch he could to find alternative cancer treatments. So, I don't understand your statements about both he and Dr. Thabes, they are always most willing to work with me as I'm also a foster parent and my animals can be very needy at times. They've always gone above and beyond to help!

We chose Bannerman Pet Care because their website advertised "no cookie-cutter medicine." That statement is far from the truth. We had our dog on an alternative diet, and when she got sick, both Dr. Thabes and Summit gave me a speech on how awful her diet is and sent me on my way (with no treatment!). That night I had to take her to the emergency vet who then cared for her stomach problems and prescribed antibiotics. Her diet was not the cause of her sickness, however they had pre-conceived notions of the diet and refused to listen to any research we had done. Thankfully, we have now found a different vet who actually listens to us as the owners and looks into the research we have done ourselves.

We've used Dr. Thabes for several years and she has gone way above and beyond for us many times. She's friendly, knowledgable, and treats your animals as her own. I've only used Dr Summit once, but liked him too. The office staff and the techs are excellent as well! We, and our animals, love it here!

Dr Jay Summit has a real heart for animals. For him this is not just a job - he really cares. He took care of my terminally ill kitty, and he showed her (and me!) love, the best treatment, and honest empathy through her last moments.I won't see anybody else!

I recently took one of my dogs to Bannerman Pet Care to get her shots up to date and get a haircut. Dr. Jay Summit was very friendly and seemed extremely knowledgeable. I appreciated the fact that he didn't "talk down" to me during the course of our conversation while we waited for the results of my dog's heart worm test, which was handled internally by their lab. (My previous vet sends the blood sample somewhere else for diagnosis, so you have to wait a day or so to find out if your pet is heart worm-positive. Bottom line: I highly recommend Bannerman Pet Care.

We've had doctors Thabes and Summit providing our pet's care for many years. We couldn't be happier; they do absolutely anything we need, even coming to our house at one time. You won't find anyone else who cares more about your pet.

Best in Town! Very caring- Dr. Thabes helped me thru some rough times- had to put down several cats and she was so empathic. The staff is wonderful....I would recommend this veterinary clinic to anyone who wants to feel at ease knowing their pet is well taken care!

Dr. Thabes was on her way to Target one day and noticed my cat that had been injured by a car. She stopped and attempted to help him but it was too late. She took him back to her clinic and then contacted us to let us know that she had him. She had prepared him nicely and all at no cost.I ended up getting a kitten from her facility and while I was there I met a lot of the staff. They all appeared to be caring compassionate animal lovers and I knew that was where I would want my new kitten to go for all her needs. I know that if I take my pet there it will be treated lovily.Thank you again Dr. Thabes for all that you did that day and you will be seeing Shiloh very soon!
