There are quite a few bad estate sale/auction companies out there right now, and Blue Leaf is at the top of the Worst!
First: they are Not an Estate Sale Co., They are an auction co. that does onsite or in home auctions. They differ from traditional Estate sales because they almost fully benefit the buyers at the client/sellers expense.
Let me explain: They do no research, no setup, they box lot and group items (never even reviewing what is in the boxes). If there is money or anything valuable stashed, the buyer gets lucky and the estate is shortchanged. The buyers determine what things sell for, not the estate sale co., or owners.
Blue Leaf advertises with traditional estate sale companies, meets with people that think they are interviewing a traditional company but then Blue Leaf pushes their format on otherwise uninformed families. They bad mouth traditional Estate sale companies, and tell people that their auctions will bring more money and they are faster. More money? Not a chance. When Blue Leaf handled my family sale, I wish I had known that the only people that come to the auction are resellers. That everything sells for pennies on the dollar. Their friends and employees bid and buy.
If there's a car, trailer, gun, guess who ends up getting it? Blue leaf, or one of their employees or family. Why? Because they actually presell these items. If there's a vehicle, blue Leaf locates a buyer. Then blue Leaf bids on the item in the auction and wins it. They pay their client and then blue leaf sells the vehicle to their prearranged buyer, for a lot more money. Blue Leaf makes considerably more on the sale than the estate.
A reputable company would have been concerned with getting the client the most money, Not themselves.
They promise an inventory/accounting, well we never received one.
Lastly, be cautious and skeptical of online reviews.
Over half of Blue Leafs positive. reviews are by their friends.
Don't fall for their pushy fast talking sales pitch.
