We recently needed two, 50-year-old Sycamore trees essentially cut in 1/3. This was going to be a big job. We had hired two other companies in the past five years to trim and thin them, but we didn't communicate well what it was we wanted. This time we made it clear to four companies when requesting bids what we wanted. Two of the four bids were excessive (probably didn't want the job) and two were competitive. We chose Boyd's to do the work. We were fit into their schedule within a week or two. The employees arrived on the day originally scheduled and in a timely manner to our home. One of the trees was inaccessible by lift, so a climber was sent high into the tree. There were enough workers to secure and lower the large limbs to the ground, not causing ANY damage to our other old-growth trees or any of our landscaping. This was impressive. When they could use the bucket lift on the 2nd tree, the fit of the truck was very tight. The driver was expert in backing into this tight fit. They took off our gate to get the truck into the backyard, but put it back up when they were done. Additionally, when they had removed the debris/wood, they sent employees in to rake the last of the refuse. We have never had a trimming company clean up as well as Boyd's, and as stated, we have had two smaller trimmings completed on the same trees. Boyd's will be our "go-to" tree service company in the future as long as the bids are competitive, as it was for this job. Excellent job by all employees!

After a windstorm we were faced with a large limb being knocked down against house and on roof. We were very concerned because windows were directly below limb. Called Boyds approx. 630 pm they were here by 830 tree down by 915PM!! Thanks to them we were able to go on a planned weekend with no worries.

They did a great job taking down a very large tree. Price seemed reasonable compared to other tree services. However, when they ground the stump they left a section. I called them about this and they said they would come out the next day and look at it and if necessary regrind it. They never came. I gave them a week and called again leaving a message on their answering devise. They have not called back. The unfinished stump looks ugly. I'll probably just call another stump grinding service and get it done. If they grind your stump you need to check their work.

I contacted Boyd's to remove a few of my tree stumps and they even called and said they'd come over but they never did - Very inconsiderate!! So, don't expect good customer service.

Branches Lion Tailed, skirts lifted much too high, Used spikes to climb trees, and cleanup was not complete. If they could climb trees without using spikes it would be a big help. To clearly state what the work to be done will look like and then delivering that would also be an improvement.

Boyds tree did a wonderful job on our tree trimming. We would recommend them to anyone. They were very profesional and completed the job when promised and to our standards. Great job Boyds Tree!
