Bright Solutions Tutoring Services Raising socially responsible children - Civic Engagement and Caring for Others This program provides the opportunity for students to participate in a cooking and giving to others project. We will respond to the need of a family identified by the Somerset County Food Bank, as well as cook and create projects to enrich the elderly participants attending the Somerset Hills Adult Day Care Center. The children will increase their friendship and sharing skills with interactive participation in a giving supportive environment increasing the opportunity to put their hearts right from the beginning. This program provides the opportunity for the participants to coordinate our efforts with the Somerset Hills YMCA and the Somerset County Food Bank to bring support, joy and warmth to another family by responding to their expressed need. We will accomplish this by creating giving boxes and placing them in strategic places, collecting the items and creating our own messages for the recipients and delivering them to the Somerset County Food Bank for anonymous delivery. This program also provides the opportunity for the participants to select and prepare some baked goods to provide the Somerset Hills Adult Day Care Center in Basking Ridge. We will select items to bake create them and package them to be delivered to the center. Strategic Learning Programs: A strategy game is a competitive activity in which the participants' decision-making skills significantly determine the outcome. Since many games have varying degrees of impact of decision making on the outcome we will incorporate games with a more significant degree of impact. One critical component of these types of games is the relative insignificance of chance with the comparable level degree of all participants having equal extent of information concerning the basic principles of the particular game. This program provides the opportunity for children to participate in a unique innovative, interactive program investigating alternative approaches to accomplish various objectives. This provides the opportunity expand the children's decision making criteria and develop their multi-step thinking skills. Open interaction with peers in another significant benefit of participating in this program. The participants will participate in discussions of how others may react in similar situations from their perspective as well as the alternative perspective.
