Provided by YP.comThey tried to charge me $400 for a starter. I told them another company said they would charge me $400 including labor!!! He claimed that the other company would only put in a used started and it would only last 2 weeks. Well, last year the company put in a starter in another vehicle and it has lasted over a year! Then when I said I am going to take my vehicle to somewhere else is when he told me that it costs $48.50 just because they looked at it. He tried to make it sound like he was doing me a faver by including that in the $400 price. We paid the $48.50 and took our car somewhere else. What's more is that when I took it into them, the lights, radio, and windows would work, but after I got the car back from them, nothing came on! I am sure you can put two and two together and figure out what happed to my battery after I said I would not let them fix it!
Save yourself the hassle and go to Moore's or Auto Maximus in Newport News!
I am very sorry we were not able to complete the work to your vehicle at the price you desired. As far as the allegations of sabotaging a vehicle for declined repairs, that sort of ethics has never been exercised here at brown's Automotive and never will. We pride ourselves on providing fair service at a fair price. We have been repairing vehicles for over 60 years in Smithfield and as we can not satisfy every customer, we try our best to do so 100% of the time. If a job is shopped around to another facility and given the opportunity to beat our price it is out of our control. We do charge for diagnosing vehicles just like anywhere else that is true. I do apologize for your lack of satisfaction and if there is anything we can do for you in the future please don't hesitate to ask!
