I entered a 24 month contract with Mediacom because that was the only option given for Internet service special for 29.95/mo. They neglected to tell me that I also had an option to purchase my own modem (net gear DOCIS 3.0) and I could go month to month with no contract. My bill was never $29.95 per month because of their bogus equipment lease fees charged for their old used modem when you can easily purchase a brand new modem for less than $100 from Walmart. This company has very poor customer service and their billing practices border a Scam. After completing a 24 month contract for a bill that was suppose to be $29.95 per month that they routinely charged $53.00 plus per month they had the nerve to send me a bill for $173.00 for just internet service. I called to try and get some clarity for a grossly inaccurate bill and they were so I finally said let me just pay what I owe today and cancel my service. These folks are CROOKS!!!

Provided by YP.comThis company is GARBAGE! They clearly have no need for any customer satisfaction. They game me some cable boxes that didnt work, then had to wait another week to get a replacement to have another faulty box installed that did not have DVR...then SOMEHOW my payment for the install got lost and they tried to tell me i had to pay it again!!! My first bill was over $250!!!! PLEASE if you dont have to do not sign up with this company!

Provided by YP.comDon't use this cable company. They are rude and outsource their customer service to India. When we first signed up they were out of stock of the correct cable box. They gave us an outdated box with no DVR while still charging us for the DVR service. Both boxes went bad. The sound would cut out. You had to unplug the box for 30 seconds and plug back in. Sometimes that worked, then eventually noithing worked. When we called to complain they said it would be 2 weeks to get someone out. We never got our DVR boxes. The crap boxes were replaced with similar models and promptly failed too. Again 2 weeks for service. Instead, we cancelled and called Dish Network. We told Mediacom to pick up their crap. This was 3 months ago. It's all still sitting in our living room in a pile. I'm about to drive it to them personally just to keep from being charged for the useless equipment- because they will charge you even though it is 100% their fault. My wife was screaming at them on the phone numerous times. If it wasn't for threat of jail I believe I might possibly woop someone's hide over there. I would give zero stars but this makes you give at least one. Disgusts me to give them that one.

Provided by YP.comDO NOT use these people for you service. I have been with them for 4 months and I have called for problems at least 40 times. My cable went out a week ago and I had to go without all services for 2 days because that was the fastest they could get someone out. Now 3 days after getting my service the same thing has happen and all they can say is to be patient and do without service for 2 more days. I am stuck in a 2 year contract.
