I am Carol A. Hicks , a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who has lived and practiced in Pensacola since 1980. I operate my practice at the Wellness Institute of East Hill and treat individuals, couples, and families with a broad range of presenting problems such as anxiety and post traumatic stress, panic disorder and phobia, depression, anger and resentment, situational adjustments to loss or traumatic transition, grief issues and dealing with physical illness, childbirth anxiety, marital problems, relationship and family issues, adjustment to divorce, parenting and blended family concerns, compulsive disorders and habit problems, impaired functioning due to low self esteem, sexual identity and expression problems, childhood issues of abandonment or abuse, and chronic pain.Specialties:I was influenced by Milton Erickson, MD and have co-authored three books and numerous chapters on his approach to hypnotherapy. I am an approved Consultant for the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis and a member of the Florida Society of Clinical Hypnosis.
