Clark County Sheriff's Office
Established in 1801, the Clark County Sheriff's Office is a full-service law enforcement agency that upholds the constitution of the United States and protects and serves the citizens of Clark County, Ind. It provides a variety of community services, such as, background checks, bicycle registration, gun permits, and domestic violence and sexual offenses prevention. The Clark County Sheriff's Office maintains an Emergency Response Team (ERT) that that deals with high-risk and dangerous situations, including high-risk warrant arrests and explosive devices, as well as heavily armed criminals and barricaded persons. In addition, the office has a Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team that specializes in bomb disposal and hostage and barricaded gunman situations. The Clark County Sheriff's Office is located in Jeffersonville, Ind.
