So you moved to the Conroe area? Now you're looking for an internet service provider? Well, look no further; behold, Consolidated Communications.
Your one and ONLY ISP for the Conroe area. Here are a few things you should know about Consolidated Communications.
Their equipment is outdated. It's 2015, Consolidated Communications is still operating on technology from 1998.
All the negative issues about 1990's internet that we look back and laugh about; Slow, unreliable, and frequent disconnects are all existing problems you WILL face as a Consolidated customer. I hope you aren't taking online classes or operating a home / internet based business where a stable connection is required. I have been disconnected 3 times while taking a quiz for an online class on separate occasions, resulting in an automatic 0.
This has been documented 3 times with Consolidated tech support, but the issue still has not been fixed.
Their tech support is useless...expect long wait times and their answer will always be "Unplug your router, wait 1 minute and plug it in."
They will at best provide a temporary fix, and never a permanent solution.
There’s a reason Consolidated has a 1.5 star rating, and it’s that same reason as to why I am moving away from Conroe and back into a civilization that actually lives in 2015.

Only internet provider in my area of Conroe. Took 3weeks before someone could show up to install service. Technician was very rough with my new home. Left open hole in soffit. No booties worn over dirty shoes coming in to my home. TV and internet went down Tuesday after new neighbor moved in and was getting wires ran to house. I told them to start at the communication pedestal because more than likely we were disconnected. Technician scheduled for Thursday 4-6pm. Really 3 days. No show. No call. I called and spoke to 3 customer representatives and a supervisor. Put on hold long periods of time, hung up on. It's not their problem. Scheduled technician again for Friday. I started calling around 4pm to make sure someone was coming. Again no show. The supervisor Justin canceled the technician from coming out. We were told we are in a outage area. Funny thing is it is only me in area without service. All my neighbors in the area have internet service. My suggestion is find alternative TV and internet provider. We will be filling complaints with FCC, BBB, and possibly Texas Attorney General.
Update: Was told Friday if technician had time the would be out Saturday. "If they Had time" to fix an issue Consolidated broke. No they didn't. Got a call from a Supervisor stating they would be out Monday from 8-10am. Like I'm going to take off from work to see if you show up. Think not. Did they show up you wonder. No. Wife called they have it scheduled for tomorrow. This is the quality of service you will get going with this company.

The worst of the worst. I'm forced to use this horrible company, have been for over six years because some genius decided that they should be guaranteed certain areas in Conroe, TX I'd like to know how much money changed hands on that deal. They do not provide anything approaching customer service. They are #1 at customer disservice. If you don't have to use them, as I do, don't touch Consolidated!

Worse experience ever... I have to constantly call support service due to internet connection lost.... At least 12 times I have called in the last year.... web site is too slow... Even trying to pay online is a nightmare....very bad service!

Consolidated has been the worse experience ever. Internet service has been very intermitent. I have made probably 12 calls to support service in a period of a year to reconnect again and again the internet... So every month basically the internet signal just goes away, dissapear, is disconnected.... By the way, they are supposed to be internet providers and their own web site and payments platform keeps freezing all the time and very slow...

I normally don't have time to hate on a company but for me to take 5 minutes of my time to write this must mean something. Horrible horrible horrible internet service. They rip you off with their crappy service. Never ever get it. The Internet turns off by itself every hour or minute. I would highly recommend people to not waste their time and money on their service. If Conroe wasn't monopolized, this company would have been bankrupt a long time ago.

I've never rated a company online before because most services work just fine but this company is HORRIBLE! Their equipment rarely works, they won't send technicians out to repair it, the customer service is poor. STAY AWAY!!!

We had cable with consolidated but the guide was always saying loading and never showed any tv show titles. also the DVR wouldn't record our shows. We got rid of the cable and went to DirectTV (love it!) but we are stuck with them for internet because our apartment complex has a contract with them. We are constantly rebooting our system and my boyfriend works from home so he has to have internet. There are times where we have to refresh a page multiple times until it loads. When we move again, I will make sure our new place allows someone other than consolidated communications.
