The Courts of Appeal is comprised of more than 100 justices in over five districts. It maintains locations in San Diego, Fresno, San Jose, Ventura, Riverside and Santa Ana Calif. It undertakes habeas corpus, mandamus, certiorari and prohibition proceedings. The courts justices are appointed by the governor and confirmed by the Commission on Judicial Appointments. The Courts of Appeal maintains a self-help center that provides information related to various cases.
