MY candidacy means that I will work hard to strengthen calpers AT a time when SO many want to weaken or destroy it. I believe that TWO simple concepts should guide calpers in determining its mission: first. Ensuring that a living wage is paid to ALL calpers members during retirement via a defined benefit program. With an equitable distribution of the cost for providing for this crucial benefit during years of service; second. Preservation of quality health benefits program for ALL retirees. With the cornerstone being the 100/90 contribution formula for support of that program. Every action contemplated by elected calpers members and staff should BE RUN through the prism of these TWO guiding principles.
