Provided by YP.comLouis Simms did a tile job for me in my shower and a few other odd jobs around the house. He was good at the odd jobs and did an overall good job on the tile in the shower. Now for the bad part....He was consistently 30-60 minutes late, his employees (his son, 20, and another male about the same age) damaged my bathtub by putting nicks (chips) in the porcelain tub, Louis seemed not to care about getting the job done right. There were quite a few things that he did that I did not like and asked him to redo. His 20 year old son was cutting the tile, and obviously wasn't the best tile cutter, as his cuts were crooked, and Louis just put the tile up anyway. It seemed that he only wanted to do the job right if he was asked to. I noticed black marks on the tile after everything was done, and they would not scrape off with my knife. Louis said the black marks were defects on the tile and came that way from the home improvement store and that he had already tossed out several tiles like that. If that's the case, why didn't he toss those out ,too?? His solution was for me to fix the problem and touch them up with a touch up paint that was bought to cover up the nicks he made in the tub, but it wasn't the right color. It's funny because the black marks weren't there until after he was asked to fix the tiles on the edge of the wall, so it obviously didn't come from the Home Improvement store like that. When I asked Louis to sign a paper stating that he damaged the tub and would pay for part of the repairs if I didn't like the outcome of the touch up paint (an employee at Lowe's gave me something to try), his solution was that he buy the repair kit and repair my tub! I wasn't happy with his work on my tile! What makes him think that he's going to fix the tub that his employees screwed up? He stated that his insurance wouldn't cover it because his deductible is $1,000. Well, that's not my problem, but he's trying to go about it the cheapest way possible. Louis did clean up after himself and was very cooperative and willing to fix things to my liking, however, his son was quite messy and left his trash laying around. In my overall opinion, I think Louis is good at fixing things in general, but he doesn't have that attention to detail that I like. Louis will not be coming back to my home. Oh, and he took a picture of his tile job to put on facebook, but conveniently he took it from the door way where you can't see his screw ups! Look at the photos of a red deck that he completed. You can see at the top of the step that there is a gap at one end, and no gap at the other. That shows how much he cares about the "dirty little details" right there.

Provided by YP.comHe seemed to understand all the problems over the phone, and gave a reasonable estimate without even seeing the problems at hand. The team was quite clean, and well mannered. The quality of work was above my expectations for the price quoted.
