Domestic Abuse Project
Located in Minneapolis, Domestic Abuse Project, also known as DAP, is one of the first domestic violence agencies in the United States that provides safe shelter, legal advocacy, counseling, prevention and educational services for individuals. Established in 1979, the organization supports substance abuse prevention and violence prevention programs. The organization offers housing services on a 24-hour basis for the victims of domestic violence and their children. Domestic Abuse Project also provides legal advocacy support and community education services. The organization serves more than 8,000 children, adolescents and adults every year. It conducts several workshops and community education sessions, as well as offers various individual and family therapies.
