This place was a nightmare. I was brought here by the cops, handcuffed, and handcuffed to a bed in the hallway of the ER. I sat there for hours, crying, bleeding, and vomiting all over myself several times with nobody even noticing. Afterwards I was moved to the 10th floor, which was absolute hell. Most of the patients had to sleep in leather recliners, the ones that arrived after the chairs were full were left to sleep on the plastic "waiting room" chairs. A very aggressive, disturbed woman actually slipped into the locked nurses area unnoticed, because the nurses were too busy chatting and not paying attention. The cops nor the hospital staff told my husband where I was. I was sexually harassed by a male that was in the chair next to me, the staff took no notice and dismissed my complaints. Those 36 hours were the absolute worst of my life. They misdiagnosed me, which eventually caused another mental breakdown a few weeks ago. I'm so glad I switched my care to Texas Health Systems.

I have found JPS to have high points. I was in for a brain aneurysm. After surgery I had to go to ICU. The care was very attentive and comforting.

i received surveys about their care and my experience. I experienced a caring staff and doctors.

This is the best hospital in F...

This is the best hospital in Fort Worth especially considering how many patients JPS sees on a daily basis. First I would like to start by saying JPS saved my sister's life. She was going to have bladder suspension surgery and after some tests they found that she had stage 2 Hodkins Lymphoma. She is currently in remission due to JPS's excellent health screening.

I would like to respond to some of the comments made about JPS. I have been an RN at JPS since 2006 and I must say that I have seen enough to write a book. JPS nurses and Doctors do not get enough credit for the abuse we recieve from patients and their family members. As for the long ER wait... Yes, this is a county hospital and due to the recession we have be seeing more and more of the county's uninsured residents. It is very uncommon for the ER to have less then 100 patients at one time. Harris and Baylor are considered busy when they have 30 patients at one time. Our ER does an excellent job for its patient load and the acuity they get.

For the lady who is upset because the nurse did not return her phone call... You are complaining to wrong people. Throughout the US there are HIPPA laws in healthcare. By law, a healthcare provider can not release any information over the phone. We don't know if you are his nosey ex wife or the housekeeper and part of our job is to assure the patients privacy. If the patient requests that the nurse call you, the nurse will do so and will talk to you in front of the patient. I have been in your situation before and I know how much stress that causes but please understand that that nurse wants to keep her job.

For the patient who tried to committ suicide and then call 911... Yes, it is against the law to committ or attempt suicide and by law the police can not let you go if they feel you are a threat to yourself or to others. This is called a mental application for detention. Also, all inpatient psychiatric hospitals (Harris Springwood, Baylor All Saints, Millwood) are locked down facilities and it will feel like you are in prison.

Please understand that JPS nurses and doctors see the worst of the worst in Tarrant County. We are mentally and physically abused often but we work at JPS because we WANT to. We are a team/ family and our passion is to help people and save lifes. Jps has new management and changes are being made to have even better customer service and patient care.

I personally love JPS and there will always be a special place in my heart for this amazing hospital!

Don't go to the psych ER if you are in crisis. They treat you like a number, not a person. They are either overworked or plain just don't give a s***. I'm only giving 1 star because the computer won't let you leave no stars
